Cupcakes

Cupcakes are divided into two flavour categories, basic and special.  ‘Basic’ are simple, everyday flavours, with a choice of toppings listed.  ‘Special’ are flavours I have found work particularly well together, and often have a filling, or special topping.   I expect to add more flavours and combinations as time goes on – the cupcake world doesn’t stand still and I always like to try new ideas – also I am happy to discuss your own flavour suggestions.

These prices are for simple icing swirl tops,  for more intricate decorations, or larger quantities,  please contact me for an individual quotation.  In addition I will need to add packaging cost which will vary dependent on the type/size/number of boxes required – I can offer gift boxes with windows in either 6 or 12 holes, or plain packaging up to a 36 hole box.

Minimum cupcake order is 5 (in a 6-hole box), unless purchased from our pop-up shop during events, where single cupcakes as well as mix and match boxes of 4 are available.

Celebration

Prices for celebration cakes and party cakes will vary dependent on your requirements, i.e. size of cake, complexity of decoration, and type or flavour.  For example,  for an 8 inch round, or 7 inch square, vanilla sponge with quite basic decoration the starting price is £40.  Please contact me for an individual quotation.

The illustration below gives a guide to the number of portions from various sized cakes.

Rich fruit cakes traditionally would be cut into pieces measuring 1 inch x 1 inch, whereas sponge cake portions are usually about 2 inch x 1 inch, so a sponge cake will provide fewer portions than a similarly sized fruit cake. Shapes such as ovals, hearts and hexagons will give roughly the same number of portions as a round cake of the same size. Obviously square cakes will be easier to cut into even portions than round cakes.  For birthday cakes, you may prefer to cut larger pieces and so the pictures below are only a rough guide.

Wedding

It is difficult to publish a price list for a wedding cake, as criteria change from one order to the next and the whole point of a bespoke wedding cake service is to provide something unique to that one particular couple.

To discuss cake styles and your requirements, please feel free to contact me to discuss.  Included in an individual quotation will be the option for an in-person consultation to discuss exactly what your design ideas are, what colours you want to use, and what flavours you choose for your cake.  Samples will usually be provided as part of this consultation.  I do ask for a small deposit for this service, redeemable when you place the order, just to cover my initial costs.  I am happy to give rough “guide prices” by email initially, but these will not be binding and can be subject to change following a consultation or further discussion.

For assistance in calculating the size of cake required, the illustration below gives a guide to the number of portions from various sized cakes.
