The couple who ordered this cake had seen my gothic wedding cake dummies on my site, liked what they saw, and thought, after approaching other cake makers with no luck, that I may be on their wavelength when it came to designing and delivering a wedding cake with an “alternative” look, but not quite so gothic. The final design was reached during a consultation meeting where we traded ideas and suggestions.
The bottom tier was my design, the red and black stripes theirs, as was the poem on the third tier (poem taken from A Nightmare Before Christmas animation) and I finished with the top tier with the marbled grey colour and gates. The skull toppers were white chocolate and a suggestion from me. I airbrushed the poem after cutting a mask on a machine that I own, and handpainted/piped the characters and trees. Delivered all the way to Norwich and for once I actually got to see and chat to the bride in her amazing dress and their lady photographer kindly sent me a few of her pictures for me to use.
