This is one the cakes that recently I am most pleased with, yet it will mean nothing to most people! It was quite a late order, by a young man for his father who lives in France and was coming back to England to celebrate his birthday. Not a traditional style birthday cake, in fact nothing to show it was a birthday cake at all, but the design is the logo of the company in France that the gentleman concerned owned. I was emailed the logo and worked it from paper into icing and onto the cake. I’ve included a picture of the original logo alongside the cake too.
I added the coloured piping along the base of the cake so that the sides didn’t look quite so plain and I’m really happy with the effect it creates.
