Another cake for a friend’s wedding, the main cake travelled all the way down to Essex for the reception but as the celebrations were split over two different days, with the cupcakes for the day of the ceremony itself, they were collected by the groom who travelled up to us and back in an evening! He also hired a section of my cupcake tower to display them on.
Simple, but with roses, the date, and it had to be purple – this was the brief, and we then expanded on that to include the monograms on both the main cake and some of the cupcakes, I then took the decision to make them free-standing on the main cake. I love the simplicity in the look of this cake and it quickly became one of my favourites.
