Another dummy wedding cake for a wedding fayre – I had just worked on a couple of “alternative”, gothic, dark, style dummy cakes, so wanted something to contrast and show I can do a variety of styles. I was going for a pastel, almost vintage look, something “sweet” with a cupcake on top, and its only when it was finished that I thought it looked a bit like neopolitan ice cream! This cake features drapes, buttons, cherubs, lace, some fantastic bunting that I cut out of some pre-printed gingham icing sheets, and piped joins. A lot of techniques in one cake, any one of which would work well as an element of a wedding cake.
