A request for an 80th birthday cake with the new Typhoon Aerofigher on – I’m always up for a challenge and enjoyed making this one, although the fields took ages!  The cake is cut at an angle to give it more of an impression of the plane flying.  


The first time I’ve had a chance to play with the new flower cutters I bought – love the results!  The colour scheme and basic layout were requested by the customer.

Party Cake Experimentation!

I saw these little biscuit tube things in a local shop and it gave me an idea for a cake, in fact I ended up making three in different flavours just for experimentation!  These are only small, but would scale up quite happily. The square one is chocolate mint, the cake is chocolate, the buttercream 

Wedding Cupcakes

These were made as wedding gifts but would also make good cakes for a wedding cupcake tower, with a cutting cake as a top tier.  One set had a theme of black and white, and I made both fondant and buttercream topped cakes.  The second set had no theme, but I made one each for 

Alien Cake and matching cake pops

A birthday cake for someone with a fascination with aliens!  The cake was vanilla sponge, and from the trimmings of the cake I made some mint flavoured cake pops which I covered in white chocolate melts coloured green.  Went down a treat, and a novelty to find green cake inside when cutting it!


The event was a party weekend called WASH (Weekend at Sunny Hunstanton) for a social organisation known as Plus, and the cake was to celebrate the 25th annual event.  It needed to provide over 200 portions, so I made two cakes – the official one for photos, and a smaller cutting cake.  The big show cake 

Baby Shower
